I have guest lectured four classes. I lectured on assertion-evidence slide design to graduate students in the Plant Pathology and Environmental Microbiology colloquium class (PPATH 590). I lectured on course development and evaluation to graduate students in the Plant Disease Epidemiology course (PPATH 542). I lectured two years in a row in the Introductory Plant Pathology Class (PPEM 405) on molecular research techniques and population genetics.

Using my research as a case study for explaining population genetics to the PPEM 405 students.

I have mentored visiting scholars, graduate students, and undergraduate students. Before we begin performing experiments in the lab, I give my mentees a short lesson on the pathogen system and a paper containing the background and research objectives. We also discuss their interests and goals. I have trained and mentored nine mentees.
